Representatives of the Uzbek agricultural society Umar visited a pasture in Kazakhstan and offered to cross Uzbek Gissar sheep with Kazakh Edilbay sheep, which can be bred in all conditions, Sputnik Uzbekistan reported on March 12.

Umar, an Uzbek company based in Samarkand, has organized a joint business project with Chinese entrepreneurs and is currently working on developing cooperation with Central Asian states. Contacts with Kazakh agricultural enterprises have already been established. Talks with Tajik and Afghan companies are underway.

During the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Shymkent, Kazakhstan, the parties were discussing the establishment of a joint cattle breeding complex. Uzbek guests visited a pastry shop belonging to the Kazakh company Ikanbir, where Edilbay sheep are raised, and familiarized themselves with the conditions. The guests were surprised by the size of the purebred meat-tailed sheep – they weighed 110 kilograms and more.

The Kazakh side explained to the Uzbek guests the advantages of Edilbay sheep: they are tolerant of all weather conditions and find food even on the most sterile pastries, have a very high meat and milk productivity, and can be sheared two times a year. . They also retain their features when crossed with other sheep of meat-tailed breeds.

Uzbek entrepreneurs offered to cross Edilbay sheep with Gissar sheep – these are common in Uzbekistan.

The parties also offered to establish sister relations between the cities of Samarkand and Shymkent. They expressed their conviction that such a decision would help to develop cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education, medicine, environmental protection, etc.

In the future, the cities will exchange delegations, artistic and sports groups and exhibitions, which will lead to the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the inhabitants of the two cities.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Kazakhstan this week. Mirziyoyev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will attend an opening ceremony of the Uzbek Year in Kazakhstan.
